Residents Reduce their Move-In Costs at Salem Creek

The cost of moving can be an economic burden--moving trucks, new furniture, first month's rent...a security deposit. To alleviate this burden, we provide our residents an alternative to paying a traditionally large security deposit and options are always appreciated.  Residents can keep more money in their pocket by enrolling in the Sure Deposit program.  This program allows residents who meet our credit-screening criteria to pay a low, one-time, non-refundable payment to Sure Deposit.  Flexible in its nature, this surety bond enables our residents to find better uses for their money where they need it most.  It is also transferable to other apartment communities within our portfolio.

Top Charter School in Texas - IDEA South Flores - Opens Adjacent to Salem Creek Apartment Homes

IDEA Public Schools are a series of 44 charter schools serving 24,000 students in Austin, San Antonio and the Valley. One of The IDEA Public School's five San Antonio-based charter schools is located within steps of Salem Creek Apartment Homes. Since its opening in September of 2015, IDEA South Flores has contributed to the district's unwavering commitment to College For All Children. IDEA Public Schools in Texas was named one of America's top three large charter school systems by the Eli and Edythe Broad Foundation.

Since its first graduating class nine years ago, IDEA has achieved a 99.9% matriculation rate. “IDEA’s nine-year run of outstanding college matriculation is a testament to the collective focus, hard work, and dogged persistence of our students and their families as well as our dedicated faculty and staff,” said JoAnn Gama, IDEA Public Schools co-founder, president, and superintendent. “But our commitment to these outstanding young men and women does not end after they graduate from IDEA. Fighting Hunger...Feeding Hope

This past holiday season, RiverBend contributed to the donation of over 35,000 meals to The San Antonio Food Bank. The mission of the San Antonio Food Bank is to fight hunger in Southwest Texas through food distribution, programs, education, and advocacy. Through this donation, we discovered how much of an impact our community can make on the lives of those who are underserved.

The San Antonio Food Bank Helps Close the Meal Gap

The San Antonio Food Bank is a 501c3 non-profit organization providing millions of pounds of food to more than 500 charitable organizations in Southwest Texas serving those in need. In addition to food distribution, the San Antonio Food Bank provides numerous programs that not only solve the immediate problems of hunger, but help individuals and families gain long-term food security.

Who receives emergency food assistance?

• 36% of our clients are children, under the age of 18 years old
• 46% of households include at least one employed adult
• 67% have incomes below the federal poverty level during the previous month
• 8% are homeless
• About 22% of clients are non-Hispanic white, 7% are non-Hispanic black, 69% are Hispanic, and the rest are from other racial groups
